1. Ask people before the race what they are all gathered around for.
2. Make a paper airplane, and fly it by people while running down the trail. Make a plane sound too.
3. Thank everyone for coming out as you pass them or as they pass you.
4. Ask people on the trail where they are going in such a hurry.
5. Wink at people that pass you.
6. Carry a fake baby on the trail race with you.
7. Bring a hand puppet with you, preferably a wild life animal, and let people know you are returning it to the wild.
8. Tell someone you really like their trail shoes and ask if they wouldn’t mind trading just for the race.
9. Complain loudly to people in front of you that the racer next to you won’t stop touching you.
10. Take a roll of toilet paper with you, and keep saying, “You just never know.”
